Offer database FAQ

What is an offer rate?
The share of applicants a university made an offer to for a subject, from UCAS End of Cycle data. A 60% offer rate means roughly 6 in 10 applicants got an offer. It says nothing about your grades, so it is a starting point rather than a prediction.
What is the difference between a typical offer and a contextual offer?
The typical offer is the grades a university normally asks for, such as AAB. A contextual offer is a lower grade requirement for applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds, based on measures such as POLAR4 and TUNDRA area data. Not every university or course makes them.
Where does the data come from?
UCAS End of Cycle data, Discover Uni and HESA course data, Office for Students area measures and university course pages. See the methodology page for every source and its limits.
Do I need an account to use the offer database?
No. Browsing universities and course pages is free and needs no login.
